It's gotta be more like falling in love than something to believe in...
So the past few weeks I had kind of lost sight of how much God is in love with us. I mean of course He loves us, but I had forgotten that He is waiting at the start of every day....just hoping I can fall in love with Him that morning. So last night I was praying about it and just hoping that the next day I would recognize some of God's romantic gestures.
(Side note...ever since high school I realized God always sends me a bird when I am where I'm meant to be. I think it's His way of saying "I approve" or "this is what I want/need for you" or just a way for me to know that He is smiling for me.)
Anyway...this morning I went to my InterVarsity leaders' church in Solana Beach and there were a bunch of booths set up to raise money. One of the booths for animal preservation had three absolutely beautiful/handsome birds and I went to hold one. And check this out.....the bird stepped on to my arm, worked his way all the way up to my shoulder and then kissed me on the cheek.
The first thing I thought was that it was God's way of saying "I'm love you" It definitely warmed my heart. I hope all you guys have been able to recognize the ways in which God is trying to pursue you in your life. It is truly a beautiful relationship we have with our eternal Husband. I'm in love with Him.
Every song you love, every memory you cherish, every moment that has moved you to holy tears has been given to you from the One who has been pursuing you from your very first breath in order to win your heart. God's version of flowers and chocolates and candlelight dinners comes in the form of sunsets and falling stars, moonlight on lakes and cricket symphonies; warm wind, swaying trees, lush gardens and fierce devotion. It will be as if it has been scripted for YOUR heart. He knows what takes your breath away, knows what makes your heart beat faster. We have missed many of His notes simply because we shut our hearts down. Now, we must open our hearts gain and keep them open. Not foolishly, but yes, we must choose to open our hearts again so that we might hear his whispers. ~Captivating
