Ch-Ch-Changes

So today I started to clean out my room. I figured that since every thing else in my life is changing, so should my room. Or as Madeline says, "fung shway it" While I was doing so, it felt the same as 10 years ago when my mom and I had to clean out my brothers room before he went to college. It is incredible how hard it is to erase memories when every picture, ticket to an event, or glow in the dark star reminds you of it. haha. But this change has to happen. So this week I am determined to redo my room. I am taking everything off my walls and putting new things up. It should be fun.

no fear, no fences, nobody, no reins

Heavens FInest Invention

To me you are heavens finest invention by far. So much brighter than the brightest star and what I'd give to make you see who you are to me.

You guys should look up that song To Me by Matthew West, it is so simple and cute.

Anyway, I had my graduation celebration yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful! I was so overwhelmed by the amount of people that came and it was truly a blessing to see so many loving faces. My Aunt Paulette made me a surprise slideshow of all my 18 years of life and it was such a tearjerker. Everyone was crying, but it was such an awesome moment.

The party went great and I think that everyone had a good time. It was good to be reminded of the incredible people that I am surrounded with. Miss Abby got Madeline and I the absolute best present I could ever ask for! It was so well thought out :) So thank you!!

One thing that I was so overly excited about was that I got this new lotion/perfume from my aunt. It is called Country Chic and it smells amazing. And the fact that it has the word "country" in it just makes me SO happy because as most of you know...that's my favorite kind of music. haha You have no idea how excited I am to wake up every morning and put that on. So thank you Aunt Lisa!

Basically, I have the best family and friends that a girl could ever ask for. My heart is just overflowing with happiness and love. It was a great way to start of summer!

Stay Strong & Stand Up

Hey may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxieties on Him for He cares for you. ~1 Peter 5:6

I am so much stronger than I thought I could ever be. And yeah I may have hit rock bottom...but what if that's the point? How are you suppose to fully understand your strength until it is truly tested?

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Yes! My heart may be broken but it is perfect just because He is inside of it. This is what is so great about Him. He is there for me..... always. So that way when I do break down at sayyy...1 a.m at Grad Night, He sends me four lovely ladies to pick me up in no time. There may be moments throughout the days where I give up, but it is absolutely incredible the strength that is found in weakness. And how it is possible to find reasons to stand up again. Praise God!

Graduation

So Graduation Day is coming up and some kids are like...
Others like...
And some are saying...
Wherever our stance might be on this event, we can all agree it is bittersweet. For me, it's about 55% bitter and 45% sweet. Yes, high school had some of the toughest times of my life, but if I am being completely honest...I enjoyed myself. I can say that I was given more blessings than burdens and when that happens, there is no doubt that I am going to be thankful for these times. Of course I am more than ready for this new phase, chapter, adventure in my life. However, Monday and Tuesday will be the very last time that I get to see my friends every single day of my life. From now on it is going to take some crazy good communication and crazy unbreakable relationships to keep the friendships that I have...but I have all the confidence in the world....so in saying this....

dear future...bring it!

Perfect Gifts

Just as free, free as we'll ever be...

There is absolutely no way that I could possibly explain how great Disney Grad Night was. Only if time was limitless. All I have to say is it was the perfect place with the perfect people, surrounded by perfect moments....at the perfect time. I cannot thank God enough for placing this night on to my life's timeline. Praise Him!

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of Heavenly lights who does not change like shifting shadows...

Oh Boy

I ran out crying and you followed me out into the street. I braced myself for the goodbye cause it's all I've ever known. Then you took me by surprise, you said I'll never leave you alone. ~T-Swizzle

Laryngitis. This is what I have and it is the most annoying, frustrating, inconvenient thing that could ever happen to me. I hope you all just take a day and notice how often you talk to someone, or try to get someone's attention, sing in the car, try to laugh....i can't do that. I went out to lunch with my mom at BJ's and she had to talk the entire time, she had to order for me. It is like these past two days I feel like a little dependent leech that is worthless without someone there to have a voice for me. Don't get me wrong, I can still whisper, but it is incredible how rare it is to find a place quiet enough that accepts a whisper as a clearly audible mean of conversation. It needs to come back soon. haha

Moonlit Oasis

You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress...

So yesterday was Prom, and it was such a wonderful night! The venue was amazing, the jazz band was incredible, and of course the people I got to spend it with were as lovely as always!

Behind The Scenes

This image has nothing to do with what I am about to write, but I really really liked it. Anyway, I have been working at stadium pizza for about 4 1/2 months now and I don't think that I have ever really talked about the funny little things that I have learned from working there. So here it goes...

* If you wash out a beer and then wash out a coke it smells exactly like a root beer float.
* If you try to connect parts of the vacuum together while it's on, it makes noises that sound like R2D2
* If you wash out a container that had olives in it, it smells like a chlorinated pool
* If you wash out salad bar scoopers with the same amount of water pressure as all other dishes, then you will get every kind of dressing all over your face
* If Kyle Bacon puts together the salad bar, then you will not be able to get out the containers when you are closing.
* If you are near the slicer when it is cutting onions...your screwed.
* When jalapeno juice is pored in the sink you will cough the rest of the night

Obviously most of these are what I have learned from the tiny mistakes that I have made. But I just thought it was fun to list all the things I didn't know before even though I have been going to Stadium since I was a little kid.

18

Just a little girl in a bigger world turned upside down. Well don't you throw it all away when no one's there to pull you out. When you're safe and sound inside your bed I know you dream of things bigger than the things you let live.

Well...it was my birthday last Sunday and I never really posted about how it went. So I am just going to say it was amazing and I am SO SO blessed for all of the people that I got to spend it with.

Whenever your birthday comes around people ask "do you feel older?"

No, I feel just as old as I did the day before...

Anyway, I got the most perfect gifts. If you've known me since I was younger you would know that I was a hardcore tomboy up until probably 7th grade. My life consisted of nothing else but playing sports, watching sports, and following sports and it was amazing. But now I am 18 and I find that I have no nail polish, one set of earrings, no dresses, nothing but sneakers...basically I am now a moderate tomboy with hardcore tomboy stuff. haha So for my birthday I got three pairs of BEAUTIFUL earrings and nail polish and nice clothes and it was just awesome. Thank you to everyone who made my birthday so darn special!

My Help Comes From The Lord

What if I'm overtaken? What if I never make it? What if no one's there, will you hear my prayer? When you take that first step into the unknown you know He won't let you go. ~Britt Nicole

Lately I have been in an....interesting (i guess you could say) state of mind. I was talking to my friend Amanda at school and I was saying how I am finally realizing that things don't just go away. No matter how long ago issues occurred or how low you pushed them down...they are always gonna rise back up and they have to be dealt with...

People always tell me to pray about it and usually when I do that, I get this overwhelming epiphany about how ridiculous I am being and how blessed I truly am...and although this is good...it's temporary. This is not why God is there for us. He is not there to guilt trip us into believing that the struggles that we have are petty. He is there to stand side by side with us while we go through all these troubles.

As Amanda said to me earlier "still waters run deep." People (like me) are not controlled by our emotions. In other words, we don't cry when we're sad and we don't get angry when we are mad. We push back those feelings...making deep waters. But when all those emotions rise back up, it's okay to say that things are not okay. And instead of just having a sudden appreciation of life, maybe it will be more meaningful to me if I just lean on God and let myself cry on His shoulder for a little bit longer.
