Slacker.Com

http://www.slacker.com/

I know that I have talked about pandora radio before, but slacker.com is about ten times better. It was cool too because, by accident, I came across a whole genre of music that I haven't listened too in FOREVER! They all remind me of the times in like late elementary school and early middle school when I was listening to this music that nobody else has ever heard of, yet I still liked it. Mostly, it reminds me of my brother, who was the one that introduced me to all of these artists. But anyway...I typed in Uncle Kracker cause I wanted to hear the song "Smile" and then it came up to the band 311...which I use to listen to ALL the time! And then that brought me to Pardon Me by Incubus, and then The Kids Aren't Alright by Offspring and the Unwritten Law and Sugar Ray...and now I am reminiscing the good 'ol days, when my brother would pick me up from school in his black truck and he would blast this music in his car...

Now I have a new problem....so many songs...not enough itunes gift cards.

I Would Stand...

This video is so incredible in so many ways. It has been swarming around facebook and I liked to think that is because of me. :) haha. just kidding! But ya...I sent it to A LOT of people and a chain reaction has begun! and it makes me so happy. I feel like there are so many lessons that can be learned from this story. The beginning part frustrated me when nobody stood up for what they believed in...especially in something that is so significant and such a big part of their lives. To just not stand up, just seems out of the question (unless you really didn't believe before the class). But to have someone have that power of you and make you STOP believing, i just can't really comprehend that. I would stand...I am pretty certain of that..mostly because of the song Fool For You by Nichole Nordeem. Check it out sometime! But anyway...here's my conclusion. I hope you all would have had the courage to stand up...even if the question wasn't "do you believe in God?"...if it was ANY question to what you believe in, I hope you would stand up without any doubt or shame. Just do it. :D

"There are times when faith and common sense do not align. When hardcore evidence of you is hard to find. And I am silenced in the face of argumentative debate and it's a long hill, it's a lonely climb. Because they want proof, they want proof of all these mysteries I claim cause only fools would want to chant a dead mans name. Maybe it's true, but I will be a fool for you all because you asked me to. A simpleton who's seemingly naive. I do believe you came and made yourself a fool for me."

Julie & Julia

So first of all, I would like to say happy 20th birthday to Rachel Ranalli...I know she can't read this, but I have to say it anyway! :D We surprised her at the movies and it worked perfectly. We were all already sitting in our seats inside the theater when she walked in, so it was a quiet pleasant surprise...considering the previews were already starting and the dimmed lights order you to silence yourselves. haha. But I hope she enjoyed it, I know that I did.

Anyway...we obviously went and say Julie & Julia. I wasn't really too excited to see this movie and I hadn't set high expectations for it. But, it was actually quite good! I really did enjoy it. It was weird because there were a lot of times where I saw myself in the movie...there were a few times where I would think "hmm that's something i would do"...it was usually following an embarrassing moment or random comment, but yeah it was very interesting to me. Oh and I didn't expect it to be funny, but I laughed A LOT! Especially the times when me and Abby would laugh at things only WE would understand...the characters just cracked me up for some reason. I loved it!

But there are good and bad things about this movie, but somehow the good thing and the bad thing are the same thing...does that makes sense? Julie & Julia really inspired me to start cooking (oh by the way...not a good movie to watch when you're hungry)....but the problem is...I have nothing to cook with, nothing to cook on, and no one to cook for. So yes, this does serve a problem for me.

Tonight was also great because I got to finally catch up with my sister! I still forgot to give her back her sweatshirt...maybe i will just keep it. ;) haha just kidding abby! You will get it back eventually...maybe. XD

LONGEST POST EVER (but please read...)

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by living the result of other people's thinking. Never let the noise of other's opinion drown your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. The voice and opinions of your closest friends are important, but don't let them define who you are.

I kinda go by the saying "You have to get lost, in order to be found". I think in my life, I have gone off the path a couple times. I've never done anything stupid, but I was not on MY path. I was walking on something that someone else had paved out for me. (sometimes i still am) I remember thinking about this the other night...as most of us know, Madeline is obviously a huuuuge part in my life..you could say she is life-changing, to say the least. And people like her, Abby, Marie, and my brother, I wouldn't say that they changed who I am, but they brought me back to who I use to be; who i was MEANT to be and that has made all the difference in the world.

(I am almost writing this word for word) Me and Madeline have accepted God as our strength, but we also know that when we are having THE worst days, we can confide in each other. but the reason we get so down on ourselves and lost, is when we get sooo consumed in this world and other people that we forget about the relationship we have with each other. HE made us. And we can quickly forget that we were made through His eyes. So when we dis ourselves or anyone else God must be like "ouch man"...But finding ourselves is a process.

What Madeline said is true...finding ourselves IS most certainly a process. And it sucks, and it's frustrating, and it hurts, and I hate it....but it happens. Right now at this moment, I couldn't tell you who I am. Yes, I have my beliefs, my morals, my values and those things usually define a person...but I sometimes find myself losing some of those things...not completely, but there are times when I forget. So I guess it's not that I don't know who I am, I know what I want to be perceived as...it's just a matter of MAKING myself that person. And it's a choice...you can either find it inside you to be your own person and create yourself OR you can just lose it. Because you know by losing it, everything will be more simple. You can't be criticized for being who everyone else wants you to be. But there will be a day where you stop playing small and let others see you without any regret or shame. That is the hard part in this whole process...this long, excruciating process that nobody likes. It is extremely hard, but when things DO get difficult that's when you turn to your support, whoever that may be.

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. ~ John 16:33

There are times in life when you gotta crawl, lose your grip, trip and fall. When you can't lean on no one else that's when you find yourself. I've been around and I noticed that, walking's easy when the road is flat.

So That Others May Live...

THIS WAS WRITTEN BY A SOLDIER IN IRAQ.

Okay, I need to rant.

I was just watching the news, and I caught part of a report on MichaelJackson . As we all know, Jackson died the other day. He was anentertainer who performed for decades. He made millions, he spentmillions, and he did a lot of things that make him a villian to manypeople. I understand that his death would affect a lot of people, andI respect those people who mourn his death, but that isn't the pointof my rant.

Why is it that when ONE man dies, the whole of America loses theirminds with grief. When a man dies whose only contribution to thecountry was to ENTERTAIN people, the American people find the need toflock to a memorial in Hollywood , and even Congress sees the need tohold a "moment of silence" for his passing?

Am I missing something here? ONE man dies, and all of a sudden he's afreaking martyr because he entertained us for a few decades? Whatabout all those SOLDIERS who have died to give us freedom? All thoseSoldiers who, knowing that they would be asked to fight in a war, still raised their hands and swore to defend the Constitution and theUnited States of America . Where is their moment of silence? Whereare the people flocking to their graves or memorials and mourning overthem because they made the ultimate sacrifice? Why is it when aSoldier dies, there are more people saying "good ridence," and "thankGod for IEDs?" When did this country become so calloused to thesacrifice of GOOD MEN and WOMEN, that they can arbitrarily blow offthier deaths, and instead, throw themselves into mourning for a "PopIcon?"

I think that if they are going to hold a moment of silence IN CONGRESSfor Michael Jackson, they need to hold a moment of silence for everyservice member killed in Iraq and Afghanistan . They need to PUBLICLYrecognize every life that has been lost so that the American peoplecan live their callous little lives in the luxury and freedom that WE,those that are living and those that have gone on, have provided forthem. But, wait, that would take too much time, because there havebeen so many willing to make that sacrifice. After all, we will nevermake millions of dollars. We will never star in movies, or write hitsongs that the world will listen too. We only shed our blood, sweatand tears so that people can enjoy what they have.

Sorry if I have offended, but I needed to say it. Feel free to passthis along if you want.

Remember these five words the next time you think of someone who isserving in the military;"So that others may live..."

Seven Shooting Stars Works For Me...

Wow...tonight was just one of THE most incredible nights....ever. The sky was so beautiful, it was definately a painting brushed by the hands of God. I talked to my Twin (Jasmine) for about an hour, as we both layed on the floor just waiting for the meteor shower. I stayed outside in my pajamas, blanket, and oversized sweatshirt til 11:30 before my mother said it was time to come in. So I never got to see my meteor shower, but seven shooting stars works for me. I found that whenever I saw one, I am so amazed by it that I forgot to make a wish until five minutes later when my jaw was no longer dropped. That would explain why none of my wishes came true...I guess I just gotta stick with prayers for now. Haha. But anyway, I hope that you all got the opportunity to witness such an amazing night...I have come to the conclusion that I am going to spend more time outback more often...

Sunday Six

I almost forgot to do this until my other mommy Karen reminded me unconsciously through her blog. :D
1.) Abigail Richardson ~ You are THE greatest sister ever! I could not ask for a better friend! "Although I am taller, I will always look up to you" ~Kendal...and yes I just quotes myself.
2.) The Soup ~ For keeping this world sane and not letting everyone get caught up in reality shows. "Falling over would be the most graceful thing you've done all season Wendy." HaHa but yes I love this show. One of the very few that still make me laugh.
3.) I got to see my aunt and uncle this week for a couple days. I never knew it, but my uncle is an AMAZING guitar player and singer. He just picked it up and started jammin' and it was basically incredible. haha. Little did I know that he was in a band for a few years. Anyway...they are such a joy to have around. They are so insanely positive all the time, it's almost freaky....but refreshing at the same time.
4.) My parents...it was quite interesting to finally know how much I can trust them...it's almost weird. And yes, Abby you were right...it wasn't as big of a deal as I thought it was going to be. XD
5.) PML!!!...I haven't gotten to you yet, but you have made me so happy the past couple days. Just the fact that I will be there soon, just makes me "so joyous, so dandy". ~ Dane Cook
6.) Jasmine Hsieh! I cannot even imagine life without you in it. We had one of THE greatest/longest conversations the other day. It so cool how we can do nothing but i can still find the whole day completely intriguing./////////////////Madeline Wilga! Cannot forget you! I love story time...as always. And this time we definately had LOTS of stories! hahaha dock girls next year? I think SO!

Woo Hoo

I'M GOING TO PML TOMORROW!!!!!!!....woo hoo. Oh and see what these youngens are doing in that picture?...yeah. i will not be doing that...but see the guy going under the waterfall? yeah i will be doing that.
